6 EXPENDITURE TAX
Налог на расходы
Косвенный налог (см. Indirect tax), который включается в цену продукта и, следовательно, перекладывается на потребителя. Используя инструменты налоговой политики, государственные власти могут увеличить свои доходы за счет налогов на расходы или за счет подоходных налогов (прямых налогов). Подоходный налог вычитается непосредственно из дохода, в то время как налог на расходы взимается в момент покупки. Прямые налоги являются в основном прогрессивными, т.к. сумма налога зависит от размера дохода человека. Налоги на расходы - регрессивные налоги, т.к. выплачиваются потребителем пропорционально расходам независимо от дохода. Примерами налогов на расходы в Великобритании являются налоги на добавленную стоимость (см. VAT), акцизы (см. Excise duties) и таможенные пошлины (см. Customs duties). См.
